New Dining Experience Offers Glimpse of ‘Hawaiian Lifestyle’

The Four Seasons Resort Maui is launching a new dining experience that “offers a window into the Hawaiian lifestyle of fishing, hunting and gathering Maui’s unique seafood, game and produce,” according to a resort press release.

“Fire & Wine” will take resort guests on an aerial tour of waterfalls, sea cliffs, and Haleakalā Crater with Blue Hawaiian Helicopters.

After the tour, guests will land at Haʻikū House, a historic estate on Mauiʻs North Shore.

There, guests will enjoy a meal prepared by Yeshua Goodman, owner and head chef of Kiawe Outdoor.

Goodman sources the night’s ingredients from the island—whether it is diving for octopus, hunting axis deer, or gathering ingredients from one of the island’s many farms.

After an interactive blind wine tasting with Goodman, guests take a guided tour of Haʻikū House.

The main event will feature a multi-course meal, which has been cooked over kiawe wood embers for hours and paired with the wines from the day’s blind tasting.

The night ends with dessert by Four Seasons chef Riccardo Meniucci.

A portion of “Fire & Wine” profits will benefit the Alexander & Baldwin Sugar Museum, a nonprofit organization that strives to preserve the heritage of Mauiʻs sugar industry.
