Hawaiian Music Duo Kūpaoa to Perform at The Shops
Six-time Nā Hōkū Hanohano award winner Kūpaoa will perform at The Shops at Wailea next week.
Kūpaoaʻs free performance at The Shops will also feature Maui’s own Hālau Kamaluokaleihulu, under the direction of Kumu Hula Kahulu Maluo-Pearson.
As life-long students of ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi, the Hawaiian language, both Kellen and Līhau enjoy composing and performing their own original songs, in addition to the time-honored favorites that are adored by many.
The performance is a part of the shopping mallʻs Concerts at The Shops series, a free monthly benefit that features headlining musicians from across the islands.
Each month, The Shops donates the eventʻs parking fee proceeds to different Maui nonprofits.
This monthʻs charity organization is Women Helping Women, which aims to end domestic violence through advocacy and education efforts.
Four-hour event parking vouchers cost $5 and can be purchased at the nonprofitʻs parking table.
The concert will be held on Oct. 16 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the shopping centerʻs main fountain courtyard.
