Maui Hotels Record Highest Revenue Statewide in September

Hotels throughout Maui County reported the highest revenue per available room in the state during the month of September, according to the Hawaiʻi Tourism Authority.

On average, Maui County hotels grossed $232 in revenue per available room, about an 8 percent increase from the same time last year.

Average daily rates for Maui County hotels increased about 5 percent from last year, while about 73 percent of their rooms were occupied throughout the month, about a 2 percent rise.

Wailea hotels reported $380 in average revenue per available room for the month, a 4 percent rise from last year.

The average daily rate at Wailea Hotels reached $461, an 8 percent rise from last year. However, occupancy dipped about 2 percent, with 82 percent of rooms filled.

Through the first nine months of this year, Hawaiʻi hotels statewide reported slight growth in both revenue per available room and average daily rate compared to the same period last year.

According to the HTA, hotels in Hawaiʻi earned the highest revenue per average room and recorded the highest average daily rate compared to other locations throughout the US during that time.

HTA’s Tourism Research Division compiled this report based on data from STR, Inc., which conducts the largest survey of hotel properties in the Hawaiian Islands.
