Budding dancers will take center stage at the Kāʻanapali Beach Hotel this weekend for Hula o Nā Keiki, Mauiʻs only solo childrenʻs hula competition.

Now in its 29th year, the event will feature performances from keiki contestants between the ages of 5 and 17 in hula, oli (chant), and pālua (couple) numbers. This year, the pālua division will not require pairs of opposite genders.

The weekend-long affair will include the Hawaiian Festival of Arts and Crafts, showcasing cultural demonstrations, presentations, and workshops from local artisans.

Hula o Nā Keiki will be held from Thursday to Saturday at the Kāʻanapali Beach Hotelʻs Kanahele Ballroom.
