Maui’s Amy Hānaiali‘i Nominated for 2020 Grammy

Maui’s Amy Hānaiali’i is among five artists nominated for the 2020 Grammy Awards Best Regional Roots Music Album category.

Hānaiali’i was nominated for her album Kalawaiʻanui which was released on May 31, 2019.

Also joining her on the list of nominees is the album Hawaiian Lullaby by various artists, produced by Imua Garza and Kimié Miner.

The category features albums containing at least 51% playing time of new vocal or instrumental regional roots music recordings.

Others contenders include: When It’s Cold – Cree Round Dance Songs from the Northern Cree; Good Time by Ranky Tanky; and Recorded Live at the 2019 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival by Rebirth Brass Band.

The 62nd Annual Grammy Awards ceremony takes place on Jan. 26, 2020, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

The full list of nominations in all 84 categories was released early this morning.
