Q: Lower Honoapiʻilani Road from Hoʻohui Road going north for a quarter of a mile is in need of professional attention due to flooding and potholes. Please check and move this repair to the top of the list. The rest of the road is in great shape.

A: Thank you for your email and I can tell you that this section of Lower Honoapiʻilani Road, between Hoʻohui Road and Omaikai Place, is slated for resurfacing by the end of 2020.

Our Department of Public Works needs to install a new sewer force main along this stretch of roadway before the paving work is completed. The force main project is anticipated to begin in the first quarter of 2020.

I want to mahalo our Department for working very hard recently to improve many of our roads throughout the County of Maui. I also want to thank the public for their patience while these necessary infrastructure improvements are constructed! Happy Holidays everyone.
