Emiliana Valdez Garcia, 97, of Pāʻia, passed away on Dec, 17, 2019 at her residence. She was born on Oct. 4, 1922 in San Juan, Ilocos Sur, Philippines.

Visitation is from 9 to 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 27, 2019 at Holy Rosary Church, Pāʻia; Mass 11 a.m.; and burial 12:30 p.m. at Valley Isle Memorial Park.

Emiliana worked as a field worker at Hawaiian Commercial & Sugar Company.

She is survived by sons, Martin (Sylvia) Garcia, Feliciano (Josefina) Garcia, Carlos (Adela) Garcia, Gerardo “Gerry” Garcia, Jimmy (Catalina) Garcia, Robert (Myrna) Garcia, Isidro (Sally) Garcia; daughter, Saturnina “Nina” (Dave) Stroberg; daughter-in-law, Imelda (Domingo-deceased) Garcia; 21 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 3, 2020, at Ballard Family Mortuary; service starts at 10:30 a.m.; burial will follow, 2 p.m., at Maui Memorial Park Garden of Meditation.

Isabel retired from Maui Land & Pineapple Company.

She was predeceased by her husband, Tito Asuncion. She is survived by her children, Teodorico (Aurelia) Asuncion, Elizabeth (Justo–deceased) Agoy, Lucrina (Reynaldo) Badua, Lorena (John) Roberson, Barbara (Marino) Paguirigan, Neva Jean Asuncion; and numerous grand and great-grandchildren.
