Kaua‘i Police Serve Order Against Idaho Woman in Search for Missing Kids

The Kaua‘i Police Department is assisting Idaho’s Rexburg Police Department with an active case involving the missing children of Lori Vallow.

Police say her two children, 17-year-old Tylee Ryan and 7-year-old Joshua Vallow, have been missing since the end of September 2019.

Kaua‘i police say Vallow and her husband, Chad Daybell, have been staying on Kaua‘i for an unconfirmed period of time, and over the weekend, served Vallow with an order of petition.  This was in an attempt to have her physically produce her children to the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare.

On Sunday, Jan. 26, Kaua‘i police and Rexburg police executed a search warrant in support of the ongoing investigation related to the whereabouts of the two children.

There are no local charges or any current warrants of arrest, according a department press release.

Fox News recently reported that Vallow’s brother killed her estranged husband two months before the disappearance of her two children.  Since the shooting, the publication reports that “Vallow, 46, has married Daybell, 51, an author of several religious-themed fiction books about prophecies and the end of the world.”

“KPD’s desire is to continue to assist the Rexburg police in whatever way we can with their efforts to locate the missing children,” said Kaua‘i Police Chief Todd G. Raybuck. “It’s our sincere hope that the children have a safe return.”

The investigation remains ongoing and is being led by Rexburg police.
