Maui Crime Feb. 23 – Feb. 29: Burglaries, Break-ins, Thefts

Maui police responded to 8 burglaries, 7 vehicle thefts and 11 vehicle break-ins in Maui County over a seven day period from Feb. 23 to Feb. 29, 2020.

Burglaries remained the same from the week before. Vehicle thefts increased 17 percent from the week before when 6 incidents were reported; and vehicle break-ins increased 10 percent from the previous week, when 10 incidents were reported.

Below is a complete list of incidents and the time and locations of when and where each occurred.

8 Burglaries

Kīhei: 

  • Wednesday, Feb. 25, 6:48 p.m.: 115 E Lipoa St., Kīhei at Kīhei Self Storage. Non-residential, attempted burglary.
  • Sunday, Feb. 29, 5:18 a.m.: 1-100 S Kīhei Rd., Kīhei at Maʻalaea Surf. Non-residential, forced entry.

Lahaina: 

  • Tuesday, Feb. 24, 11 a.m.: 1400 Block of Front Street, Lahaina at Lahaina Roads. Non-residential, forced entry.

Nāpili: 

  • Tuesday, Feb. 24, 4:51 a.m.: 3500 Block of Lower Honoapiʻilani Road, Nāpili at Papakea Resort. Non-residential, forced entry.
  • Tuesday, Feb. 24, 8:05 a.m.: 4200 Block of Lower Honoapiʻilani Road, Nāpili at Kalana Beach Resort. Non-residential, forced entry.
  • Tuesday, Feb. 24, 8:26 a.m.: 3700 Block of Lower Honoapiʻilani Road, Nāpili at Maui Lani Apartments. Non-residential, forced entry.

Pāʻia: 

  • Tuesday, Feb. 24, 7:07 a.m.: 42 Baldwin Ave., Pāʻia at Cafe Des Amis. Non-residential, forced entry.

Wailuku: 

  • Tuesday, Feb. 24, 7:07 a.m.: 200 S High St., Wailuku at Kalana o Maui. Non-residential, attempted burglary.

Haʻikū: 

  • Saturday, Feb. 28, 12:04 a.m.: 700 Block of Aoku Place, Haʻikū. BMW, black.

Kahului: 

  • Tuesday, Feb. 24, 9:38 a.m.: 400 Block of S Kamehameha Ave., Kahului. Honda, black.
  • Wednesday, Feb. 25, 9:25 a.m.: 884 W Mokuea Pl., Kahului at Avis Rac Kahului. Jeep, red.
