In light of health and safety concerns, the Hawaiʻi State Public Library System, in partnership with Music for Life Foundation, are announcing the cancellation of the ʻUkulele Lending Program launch event with Jake Shimabukuro and Andrew Molina for Maui libraries that was scheduled for Saturday, March 14th at Kahului Public Library.

“This was such a difficult decision to make,” said Music For Life Foundation President Leo Daquioag, “but we, along with Jake, could not risk the health and well-being of our Maui community, library staff and patrons who may be attending the Maui launch.”

“The health of our communities is important to all of us, and this is the most responsible decision. While we are all disappointed, we are looking forward to launching this amazing program in a future event,” said State Librarian Stacey Aldrich.

Information regarding a new launch event date will be forthcoming soon.
