The National Weather Service has issued a special weather statement saying a line of showers will produce strong wind gusts across Molokaʻi.

At 11:49 .m., the line was moving toward the east at 30 mph over the western portion of the island.

Winds in excess of 40 mph are possible as the line of showers moves across Molokaʻi through 12:15 p.m.

Locations impacted include: Hoʻolehua, Maunaloa, Kualapuʻu, Kalaupapa National Park, ʻUalapuʻe,
Hālawa Valley, Kepuhi, Pūkoʻo, Kaunakakai, Kamalo, Kawela and Molokaʻi Airport.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch also remains in effect until 5 p.m. HST Hawaiʻi.

A severe thunderstorm watch means conditions are favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area. A severe thunderstorm could produce strong thunderstorms capable of producing winds of 58 mph or higher and/or hail 1 inch in diameter or larger are possible.
