Seabury Hall to Launch Distance Learning

Seabury Hall will roll out its distance learning program on April 1 in response to COVID-19 advisories for student and community safety, the school announced today.

Emails were sent to faculty, staff, parents, and students this morning. Seabury Hall faculty have been planning and preparing for the possibility of instituting the distance learning program for several weeks.

Seabury Hall’s distance learning plan is designed to balance “screen time” with active learning for both students and teachers. Students will attend 25-minute virtual classes in each of their scheduled subjects in the morning followed by time to collaborate with other students and teachers in the afternoon.

The school will continue to host morning assemblies and advisement periods virtually as well. Students will be able to access their academic advisors, college counselors, learning center coordinators, and the school nurse online. Wifi hotspots and laptop computers will be available to students who need them.

Seabury Hall events scheduled for April have either been moved online, canceled, or postponed. The school will continue to assess conditions moving forward and will make additional decisions about their academic program and community events in April.
