Grand Wailea Gifts 800 Team Members with Groceries for Mother’s Day

With Mother’s Day this weekend, Grand Wailea is helping its team members show their appreciation for their moms. Today, more than 800 team members received fresh groceries to make homemade Mother’s Day meals they can enjoy with their families “in the comfort and safety of their own homes.

The fresh groceries included a 15-pound bag of rice, 4 pounds of chicken thighs, a half-pound of coffee, plus Maui-grown organic papayas and sweet potatoes from Kumu Farms.

Today’s effort continues Grand Wailea’s “Share and Care” initiative to support Maui families. Last week, the resort distributed snacks, bentos and custom-made face masks to the families of the Boys and Girls Club of Maui. The resort also handed out bentos to Maui’s homeless and personal care kits to the nonprofit organization Women Helping Women.

JP Oliver, managing director of Grand Wailea, A Waldorf Astoria Resort said, “We’re always seeking ways to create positive memories and to celebrate our resort ʻohana, especially amid these challenging times. Each mom that’s a part of our Grand Wailea ʻohana is also receiving a rose today so we can say, ‘thank you for your love and your leadership.’”
