2 Lānaʻi High Seniors Awarded Kukui Mālamalama Scholarships

Two Lānaʻi High School graduates have been awarded $2,000 each, a laptop and a Patagonia backpack by the Kukui Mālamalama Scholarship program.

Funding for these scholarships was provided by the generosity of Pūlama Lānaʻi.

The scholarship award is administered by the Friends of Lānaʻi High & Elementary Schools Foundation on behalf of Pūlama Lānaʻi.  The Kukui Mālamalama Scholarships is intended to encourage students to further their education after high school.

The recipients are chosen for their good character and financial need to continue their education.

This year’s recipients are JR Agmata and Samantha Padron.

JR Agmata plans on attending University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa to pursue a major in finance.

Samantha Padron will also be attending the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa.  She intends to major in education or travel industry management.

Six schools are participating in the Kukui Mālamalama Scholarship program; Hāna High School, Molokaʻi High School, Lānaʻi High School, KeKula Niʻihau School, Waiʻanae High School and Kahuku High School.
