UPDATE/CLEARED: Hāna Highway Downed Tree at Mile 6

Hāna Highway is now OPEN. It was closed earlier this morning while crews worked to clear a downed tree that was blocking both lanes of travel.

Hāna Highway is closed in both directions near Mile 6 due to a downed tree.
State Highway and telephone personnel are en route.
This is just on the Haʻikū side of the East Maui Irrigation Co. garage.

Maui police are asking motorists to avoid the area.
