Maui Crime to Oct. 3-9, 2021: Burglaries, Break-ins, Thefts

Maui police responded to seven burglaries, 13 vehicle thefts and eight vehicle break-ins in Maui County over a seven day period from Oct. 3 to 9, 2021.

The percentage of burglary cases increased 17% from the week before when six incidents were reported. Vehicle thefts decreased -7% from the week before when 14 incidents were also reported. Vehicle break-ins decreased -56% from the week before when 18 incidents were reported.

7 Burglaries

Kīhei:

• Oct. 3, 2021, 11:19 a.m.: 20 Lolupe Lane, Kīhei. Non-residential, attempted burglary.
• Oct. 5, 2021, 3:30 p.m.: 1993 South āʻāʻ Road, Kīhei Island Surf. Non-residential, forced entry.
• Oct. 6, 2021, 12:48 p.m.: 2100 block of ʻAuina Place, Kīhei. Residential, unlawful entry.

Kula:

• Oct. 5, 2021, 11:18 a.m.: 1-100 Kai Nānā Place, Kula. Residential, unlawful entry.
• Oct. 8, 2021, 1:25 p.m.: 295 Pūlehu Road, Kula. Non-residential, unlawful entry.

Hoʻolehua, Molokaʻi:

• Oct. 7, 2021, 4:23 p.m.: 3530 Puʻu Kapele Ave., Hoʻolehua, Molokaʻi. Non-residential, unlawful entry.
