Maui Crime to Oct. 24-30, 2021: Burglaries, Break-ins, Thefts

Maui police responded to 10 burglaries, five vehicle thefts and seven vehicle break-ins in Maui County over a seven day period from Oct. 24 to 30, 2021.

The percentage of burglary cases increased 43% compared to the week of Oct. 10 to 16 when seven incidents were reported. Vehicle thefts decreased 55% from the week of Oct. 10 to 16 when 11 incidents were reported. Vehicle break-ins decreased 50% from the week of Oct. 10 to 16 when 14 incidents were reported.

10 Burglaries

Haʻikū:

• Oct. 24, 2021, 9:40 a.m.: 2830 Hāna Highway, Haʻikū at Haʻikū Community Center. Non-residential, unlawful entry.

Hāna:

• Oct. 24, 2021, 8:03 p.m.: 400 block of Haneoʻo Road, Hāna. Residential, unlawful entry.

Kahului:

• Oct. 28, 2021, 8:29 a.m.: 348 Lehuakona St., Kahului. Non-residential, forced entry.
• Oct. 29, 2021, 9:11 a.m.: 58 Hāna Highway, Kahului. Non-residential, forced entry.

Kīhei:

• Oct. 25, 2021, 6:53 p.m.: 1800 block of Kaʻahele Place, Kīhei. Residential, unlawful entry.
• Oct. 28, 2021, 12:11 p.m.: 1-100 Hālili Lane, Kīhei. Residential, unlawful entry.

Kula:

• Oct. 28, 2021, 4:48 p.m.: 16000 block of Haleakalā Highway, Kula. Residential, unlawful entry.

Makawao:

• Oct. 26, 2021, 7:20 a.m.: 3355 Baldwin Ave., Makawao at Maui Veterans Cemetery. Non-residential, attempted burglary.

Pāʻia:

• Oct. 25, 2021, 7:15 p.m.: 99 Hāna Highway, Pāʻia at Texaco Pāʻia. Non-residential, unlawful entry.
• Oct. 26, 2021, 1:03 p.m.: 99 Hāna Highway, Pāʻia at Texaco Pāʻia. Non-residential, unlawful entry.

Māʻalaea:

• Oct. 27, 2021, 8:20 a.m.: 10863 Honoapiʻilani Highway, Māʻalaea at Scenic Lookout. Dodge, black.

Pāʻia:
