Wailea Village Hosts Toy Drive Benefitting IMUA Family Services

Wailea Village is kicking off the season of giving by hosting a toy drive benefitting IMUA Family Services. The toy drive launches at Wailea Village’s Holiday Sunset Market on Nov. 18 from 4–7 p.m.

Kamaʻāina and visitors are encouraged to donate new and unwrapped toys for ʻohana and keiki in need. Toy donors who are not able to stop by during the Holiday Sunset Market may drop off toys at HUE Home + Design, Paper Garden, and Sabado Art Gallery. The stores will collect the toys for IMUA until the Holiday Sunset Market on Dec. 2, when IMUA volunteers will be on hand to accept donations.

IMUA Family Services is a nonprofit community-based organization serving Maui, Molokaʻi and Lānaʻi. It’s mission is to empower children and their families to reach their full potential. Its programs and staff assist children with special needs, disabilities and developmental learning challenges in their most critical formative years using play-based instruction to help them move forward. IMUA also provides coaching and mentoring to parents and families to support their children.

Following toy safety guidelines, all donated toys for keiki ages 1-11 years must be in new and original packaging and unwrapped to be checked for safety reasons. Recommended donations include musical, stacking, shape sorters, soft goods, puzzles, balls, building blocks, sound-activations, puppets, finger paints, bath toys and books. Those wishing to donate may either bring toys or purchase new toys from one of the many local vendors at the Holiday Sunset Market.

More than 30 small-business merchants offering made-in-Maui products will be on-hand including culinary and beverage treats, fashion for adults and children; and fine art, home décor, paper goods and stationery.

Sunset Market is a continuation of Wailea Village’s mission to perpetuate local businesses. Most of its permanent tenants are locally-owned shops, all of which are open. 

Wailea Village will be observing all mandates imposed by Maui County including social distancing, wearing masks, and hand cleansing.

Holiday Sunset Market is a special event of the monthly Sunset Market at Wailea Village located at 100 Wailea Ike Drive. The event takes place at on the first and third Thursday of each month.
