BREAKING: Suspect Located in Attempted Child Sex Assault on Big Island

Big Island have located a man wanted for the attempted kidnapping and attempted sexual assault of a female child in a restroom at a Hilo public school this morning.

Authorities say the child managed to escape from the suspect, who fled from the scene near Kapiolani Street at around 6:30 a.m.

Police quickly sought the public’s help, releasing a description of the man and details of the dark red nylon track suit he was wearing.

By 10 a.m., authorities say they had located and arrested a man in connection with the case.

Police thanked the public for their assistance, and plan to release details later today.
