Whale of a Photo Contest accepting entries through July 25
From July 11-25, shutterbugs of all levels are invited to enter the Whale of a Photo Contest, a fundraiser for Pacific Whale Foundation. Each submission is accompanied by a $10 donation; multiple entries accepted. All funds raised directly benefit Pacific Whale Foundation Conservation, Outreach, Research and Education programs.
A selection of photos will be chosen by an internal panel of judges to advance to the online public voting round, Aug. 15 to Sept. 5. The 12 images that raise the most funds for Pacific Whale Foundation programs in the public voting round will be published in PWF’s 2025 Marine Life Calendar. The photo with the most votes will have the honor of being featured on the cover of the calendar, including a brief bio highlighting the winning photographer.
Submissions will be considered regardless of the entrant’s profession, location or expertise. Pacific Whale Foundation employees who wish to enter are encouraged to submit photos taken on personal time and are barred from judging photos for inclusion in the public voting round.
This year’s theme is “Marine Wildlife.”
“It’s a great way to showcase your talent and get your name out there while supporting PWF’s mission to protect the ocean through science and advocacy, and inspire environmental stewardship,” stated PWF in its announcement.
