Maui United Way to host free community grant writing workshops
Maui United Way has partnered with federal and state agencies to present a grant workshop series to local nonprofits, grassroots organizations and public/governmental employees to increase success when writing grants to help the people of Maui County.
The free, online and in-person grant workshop series covers everything from a basic primer on grant writing to more detailed information on writing specific grants for foundations and the federal government, along with grant management after funding has been awarded.
“Whether you are new to grants or want a refresher, we encourage nonprofits, grassroots organizations, private businesses, individuals interested in grant writing to attend. Folks can sign up for one session or all of them, and they are all free,” said Jeeyun Lee, director of Impact at Maui United Way.
Virtual workshops offered include:
- “Grant Basics” on Wednesday, July 24 from 1 to 3 p.m.
- “Federal Grants 101” on Monday, July 29, 10 a.m. to noon
- “Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Grants” on Wednesday, July 31 from 10 to 11 a.m.
- “Health Resources and Services” on Thursday, Aug. 14, from 10 to 11 a.m.
- “Project Development and Grant Management” on Wednesday, Aug. 21 and Thursday, Aug. 22 (in person for three hours; exact timing TBD)
