Update/Located: Missing Kahului woman last seen Tuesday morning

Maui police have issued a news release update saying that as of Wednesday, July 17, 2024, Hoffman was located. Further details were not available. The Maui Police Department thanked the public for their assistance.

Maui police provided an updated on Thursday morning, July 18, saying this case remains open and under investigation at this time. No further information is available. This post will be updated with additional information as it becomes available.

The Maui Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance with any information on the whereabouts of Mimmie “Mele” Hoffman, 81, of Kahului.
Hoffman was reported missing on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, by a family member after she failed to return home. She was last seen leaving her residence in Kahului around 9 a.m. on Tuesday, July 16, 2024. Hoffman is known to frequent the Queen Kaʻahumanu Center and Kahului Library.
She does not have a cell phone, and her family is concerned for her safety and well-being.
Hoffman is described as 4 feet 1 inch tall, weighs about 89 pounds, and has grey hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a white shirt.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Hoffman is asked to contact the Maui Police Department’s non-emergency number at 808-244-6400. If it is an emergency, call 911 and refer to MPD report number 24-020643.
