Nā Hale O Maui Annual Golf Tournament: A Swing for Affordable Housing

This past Sunday, July 21, 2024, Mākena Golf and Beach Club hosted the Nā Hale O Maui Annual Golf Tournament. This year’s event drew the participation of 18 teams at the 18-hole green with views of the Pacific and soaring iwa birds.

Participants enjoyed a day of friendly play, camaraderie, and community spirit. The tournament served as a fundraiser for Nā Hale O Maui, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing affordable housing solutions for Maui families. With the support of participants and sponsors, the event raised over $45,000 to further the mission of securing and preserving affordable housing for low- and moderate-income households in Maui County in perpetuity.

Highlights of the day included a variety of fun activities on the course, and a delightful lunch where participants could relax and enjoy each other’s company. Special moments included Wil Cambra winning Closest to the Pin, earning him a dinner for two at DUO Steak and Seafood at Four Seasons Maui.

More than just a tournament, this event was a celebration of community spirit and a commitment to positively impacting the lives of Maui’s working families. The funds raised will support Nā Hale O Maui’s efforts to create affordable housing opportunities, ensuring more families can remain in Maui and attain their dream of homeownership.

Organizers said Nā Hale O Maui Annual Charity Golf Tournament has once again proven to be a highlight, combining the love of golf with the passion for giving back to make Nā Hale O Maui’s motto of “changing lives, one home at a time” a reality.

Nā Hale O Maui, a community-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, has been dedicated to providing affordable homes for Maui’s working-class families since 2006. A key aspect of their mission is ensuring these homes remain affordable in perpetuity, homeowner after homeowner, family after family, for generations to come.
