Maui County Department of Water Supply Director John Stufflebean PC: County of Maui

Maui County Director of Water Supply John Stufflebean will speak at a meeting of the Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunset on Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2024. Stufflebean will present an overview of the current water situation on Maui.

The meeting will be held at the Aston Paki Maui Resort Aliʻi meeting room. The social begins at 5 p.m.; the meeting starts at 5:30 p.m. A light dinner will be served. There is no cost to attend the meeting.

Prior to working on Maui, Stufflebean had more than 40 years of experience in local government in Arizona, Missouri, California and Australia, including 24 years as a department head responsible for wastewater management, potable and recycled water supply, stormwater management, watershed protection, waste management and sustainability.

Stufflebean was the Assistant Director for the Pure Water and Technical Services Branch of San Diego’s Public Utilities Department. In both San Jose and Sunnyvale, he led the implementation of the strategic master planning efforts at the wastewater treatment facilities. In Australia, he served as a sustainability consultant for the City of Willoughby and for the Infrastructure Sustainability Council of Australia.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Colorado State University, a master’s degree in environmental engineering from the University of Arizona, and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Missouri, and is a registered professional engineer in Hawaiʻi.
