News brief: US Pacific Fleet Band performs at Maui schools

US Pacific Fleet Band Tradewinds Quintet traveled to the island of Maui on Aug. 23-30, 2024 as part of a Music Education Program where they performed for the students and faculty at five schools on Maui. Schools that were treated to performances included: Wailuku Elementary, Pu’u Kukui Elementary, Lahaina Elementary, Kamali’i Elementary and Kalama Intermediate.   

This ensemble combines the unique sounds of flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, and French horn to create a wind instrumental version of the classical string quartet, a group well suited for a variety of occasions from community concerts to military functions.

US Pacific Fleet Band’s Tradewinds is also available for music educational outreach at elementary, secondary, and collegiate school music programs, as well as for music master classes and clinics.
