Update: Single lane reopened in Pāʻia

The Kahului-bound traffic lane has reopened on a portion of Hāna Highway that had been shut down after a vehicle accident, Maui County reported. The road closure was initially reported shortly after 2 a.m. today.
East-bound traffic on Hana Highway remained closed as of 6:15 a.m.
The highway closure affected highway traffic from Pāʻia Bay to Baldwin Avenue. The closure was due to the accident and a downed power pole, officials said.
