Fire Causes $230,000 Damage to Kula Ohana Unit

A Kula ohana unit sustained an estimated $230,000 in damage during an early morning fire on Tuesday, December 6, 2011.

The fire was reported at 5:12 a.m. on Kamila Place in Kula.

Authorities say the 400-600 square foot attached wooden Ohana was fully involved when crews arrived at 5:21 a.m.

Crews from Kula, Makawao, and Kahului responded, bringing the fire under control by 5:27 a.m.

One male occupant was home at the time.

No injuries were reported and the incident remains under investigation.
