Maui Musicians Showcased In ‘AC/DCember’ Fundraiser

The final night of the three-day music tribute to AC/DC, “AC/DCember,” will be hosted at the Kahului Alehouse at 9 p.m. on December 15.

The event will feature a collaboration of Maui musicians who will perform hit songs from AC/DC, one of the hardest rocking bands in rock history.

Local musicians who will venture into the thrilling realm of original rock & roll tonight include Bad Kitty, Abbey St. John, Myron Carlos, Stephan Lanse, John Carrol, Byron Townsend, Lenny Francis, Michelle Kytlica, Roger McKinley, Clay Mortensen, Chris Sendrey, Mary Jane Babashoff, Shawn Michael, Cheryl Rae, Billy & The Bad Dogs, Brenton Keith, Jamie Gallo, Teri Garrison, Mike Burke, Sebrina Barron, Jimmy Mac, Annie & The Orphinz, John Avvie Hughs, Jonathan Drechsler, and more.

Concert-goers will have the chance to be “shaken all night long” while contributing to a worthy cause. AC/DCember is also a fundraiser event for Mary Tashamiro, an appreciated  member of the Maui community who has fallen ill with lymphoma and needs help affording sufficient health-care.

Tashamiro’s supportive friends, some of whom are musicians participating in the show, organized the event to show their support for her while also providing entertainment for the community.

On the first night of AC/DCember at Stella Blues on December 13, waitress Nicole Perino said the venue was packed with over 150 people crowded around the stage. At Lulu’s Lahaina for the second night, Lulu’s waitress Kehaulani Lacno said attendance reached 200 people.

If attendance continues as such, the last night of AC/DCember at Kahului Ale House will be a blow-out as the lights are dimmed and the audience takes a ride on the “Highway to Heal.”

A $10 donation at the door of Kahului Ale House is required for entrance to the show.
