Maluhia Maui Rotary Club will host a community electronics recycling pickup from 8 to 11 a.m. Aug. 22, giving residents a chance to safely dispose of unwanted electronics.

The club will accept televisions, computer monitors, desktop and laptop computers and printers during the event, according to an announcement.

A suggested donation of $20 per item will support the club’s ongoing community service projects benefiting Maui residents and families. Residents can also opt for data destruction service for an additional $10 per device to have data securely removed from eligible electronics before recycling.

Residents are encouraged to schedule pickups in advance through an online form.

Electronic waste can contain materials that are harmful if they enter landfills or the environment. Responsible recycling helps recover reusable materials, reduce landfill waste, and prevent hazardous substances from reaching Maui’s land and ocean ecosystems.
