Maui lane closures for the week ending Aug. 21, 2026

The state Department of Transportation will be conducting road work this week that will result in lane closures at various locations. There will be no lane closures on Friday, Aug. 21 in observance of the Statehood Day holiday, unless permitted. Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. — South High Street/Honoapiʻilani Highway (Route 30) —
Wailuku to Waikapū: Roving shoulder closure on South High Street/Honoapiʻilani Highway (Route 30) in both directions, between mile marker 0 and 3 in the vicinity of Main Street and Maui Tropical Plantation, on Monday, Aug. 17 to Thursday, Aug. 20, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. for street sweeping.
Lahaina: Right single lane closure on Honoapiʻilani Highway (Route 30) in both directions, between mile marker 19.5 and 20.3 in the vicinity of Hōkiokio Place and Shaw Street, from Monday, Aug. 17 to Thursday, Aug. 20, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for guardrail replacement. One lane will remain open for through traffic.
Lahaina: Right lane closure on Honoapiʻilani Highway (Route 30) in the northbound direction between mile marker 20.5 and 20.8 in the vicinity of Prison Street and Dickenson Street, on Monday, Aug. 17 to Thursday, Aug. 20 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for guardrail replacement. One lane will remain open for through traffic.
Lahaina: Roving single lane closure on Honoapiʻilani Highway (Route 30) in either direction, between mile marker 20.9 and 21.9 in the vicinity of Lahainaluna Road and Kapunakea Street from Monday, Aug. 17 to Friday, Aug. 20, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for guardrail replacement. One lane will remain open for through traffic.
Honokōhau: Single lane closure on Honoapiʻilani Highway (Route 30) in the northbound direction between mile markers 35.3 and 36.1, from Monday, Aug. 17 to Thursday, Aug. 20 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., for rockfall clearing, drilling, shotcrete installation, and mesh installation. Traffic will be alternated in the open lane.

Kīhei (24/7 closure): Shoulder closure on Piʻilani Highway (Route 31), in the northbound direction, near mile marker 2, in the vicinity of East Waipuilani Road, 24-hours a day, 7 days a week, until further notice for construction of a new intersection for Maui Research & Technology Park residential subdivision. Wailuku (night work): Roving shoulder closure on Main Street/Kaʻahumanu Avenue (Route 32) in either direction between mile marker 0.0 and 0.5, in the vicinity of South High Street (Route 30) and the Kaʻahumanu Avenue-Naniloa Drive Bridge, from 8 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 19 to 6 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 20 for street sweeping.
Wailuku to Kahului: Roving single lane closure on Kaʻahumanu Avenue (Route 32) in the eastbound direction between mile marker 0.0 and 2.8, in the vicinity of South High Street (Route 30) and Hāna Highway (Route 36) on Thursday, Aug. 20 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for tree removal and tree crown raising.

Pāʻia: Single lane closure on Hāna Highway (Route 36), in the eastbound direction, between mile marker 6 and 6.5 in the vicinity of Baldwin Beach Park on Wednesday, Aug. 19 to Friday, Aug. 21, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. for HECO to replace a utility pole. Traffic will be maintained in both directions with a lane shift.
Pāʻia (night work): Single lane closure on Hāna Highway (Route 36), in the eastbound direction, between mile marker 6 and 6.5 in the vicinity of Baldwin Beach Park on Wednesday, Aug. 19 to Friday, Aug. 21, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. for HECO to replace a utility pole. Traffic will be maintained in both directions with a lane shift.
Pāʻia (night work): Roving shoulder closure on Hāna Highway (Route 36), in either direction, between mile marker 6.6 and 6.9 in Paia town from 8 p.m., Monday, Aug. 17 to 6 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 18, for street sweeping.
Huelo to Kailua (night/daily work): Roving shoulder closure on Hāna Highway (Route 360), possible in either direction, between mile marker 3 and 6 from Monday, Aug. 17 to Thursday, Aug. 20 from 12:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., for spot spraying for weed control.
Waikamoi: Single lane closure on Hāna Highway (Route 360), in the northbound direction, between mile marker 9.79 and 10, in the vicinity of Waikamoi Stream, from Monday, Aug. 17 to Thursday, Aug. 20 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. for slope work and road restoration. Keʻanae (night/daily work): Roving shoulder closure on Hāna Highway (Route 360), possible in either direction, between mile marker 13.5 and 16 from Monday, Aug. 17 to Thursday, Aug. 20 from 12:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., for spot spraying for weed control.
Wailua (night/daily work): Roving shoulder closure on Hāna Highway (Route 360), possible in either direction, between mile marker 18 and 20 from Monday, Aug. 17 to Thursday, Aug. 20 from 12:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., for spot spraying for weed control.
