‘Just for Fun’ culinary classes at UH Maui College

The University of Hawaiʻi Maui College’s award-winning Culinary Arts Program presents its Fall 2026 series of five “Just for Fun,” hands-on cooking classes beginning Saturday, Sept. 26, 2026.
All classes are held on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Pā‘ina Building on the UHMC Kahului Campus. Cost of each class is $100 to $120 per person. The registration page provides a more in-depth description of the class as well as a list of what participants need to bring.
- Sept. 26 – Kitchen Basics: Knife Skills, Stocks, Soups and Broths with Chef Craig Omori
- Oct. 17 – Intermediate Knife Skills: Fish Fabrication and Cookery with Chef Craig Omori
- Nov. 7 – Pastry Made Easy: Sweets & Treats Class with Pastry Chef Hannah Stanchfield
- Nov. 21 – Holiday Side Dishes with Chef Craig Omori
- Dec. 5 – Pastry Made Easy: Holiday Cookie Decorating with Pastry Chef Hannah Stanchfield
“Our non-credit classes are all about demystifying techniques,” said Chef Craig. “You don’t need years of culinary training to break down a fish, simmer a great broth, or turn out bakery-quality holiday pastries. Pastry Chef Hannah and I are excited to welcome home cooks into our labs this semester to build solid kitchen fundamentals and have a great time doing it.”
