Pacific Permanente Group expands Maui cardiovascular care with addition of Dr. Miruais Hamed

Pacific Permanente Group is honored to welcome Miruais Hamed, MD, to its cardiology team, expanding cardiovascular care options available to patients on Maui. As PPG expands its specialty services for the Maui community, Dr. Hamed brings vast experience in cardiovascular medicine, a strong background in medical education, and a commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.
Dr. Hamed is a board-certified cardiologist with expertise in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of cardiovascular conditions. He earned his medical degree from the University of Bern in Switzerland and completed his internal medicine internship and residency training at Johns Hopkins University and Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, where he also served as chief resident. He later completed a cardiology fellowship at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, Oregon.
Bringing a diverse clinical background and international perspective to Maui, Dr. Hamed has expertise in cardiovascular disease with professional interests in high cholesterol and medical education. His academic work has included presentations and publications examining cardiovascular health and platelet activity, supporting continued advancements in the understanding and treatment of heart disease.

Dr. Hamed amplifies PPG’s growing network of specialists, which includes inpatient behavioral health, cardiology and interventional cardiology, critical care medicine, gastroenterology, internal medicine, inpatient neurology, orthopedics, pulmonary, and urology. He provides both inpatient and outpatient care at Maui Memorial Medical Center and the Maui Memorial Medical Center Outpatient Clinic.
