Informational Open house for New Central Maui School Project, Oct. 1 and 3, 2026

The team behind the planned public school in Waikapū, the New Central Maui School Project, is hosting its second Informational Open House on Oct. 1 and Oct. 3.

This is a chance to see how the project has progressed and learn about the effort to plan and design a new public school that meets the needs of the growing Central Maui community.

The first phase of the new school will open to middle school students in 2031, and before the end of 2026 a final approved master plan for the overall campus will be available. Over time, the campus will grow to support up to 1,650 students, housing a middle school and an elementary school. This second open house is a chance to see the current design, learn about the timeline, and share feedback to help inform a school that reflects the community and culture.

• Culture, Art and Place
• Campus Vision and Design

An area for keiki will be available, so bring your whole family is welcome to attend. Representatives from the Hawaiʻi School Facilities Authority, the architectural team Hawaiʻi Off Grid, and the Community Relations and Cultural Advisory team Moʻolelo Group will all be in attendance to answer questions and receive thoughts and suggestions.
