Kula residents asked to conserve water after waterline break on Upper Kula system

The Maui County Department of Water Supply is asking all residents, visitors and businesses in the Upper Kula area, from Upper Kimo Drive to Kanaio, to conserve water while crews repair a water break on a line serving the Upper Kula system.

Water users are asked to limit water use to essential needs, including drinking, cooking and hygiene, and to postpone nonessential uses such as irrigation and other outdoor water activities. Conserving water will help maintain storage levels in the system, allowing DWS to preserve water for essential needs and emergency protection while repairs are underway.

Crews are working to complete the repair by Friday, weather and field conditions permitting.
