NARUTO! film directed by Maui’s Destin Daniel Cretton seeks casting submissions for lead teen roles

The new live action feature film, NARUTO!, directed by Maui’s own Destin Daniel Cretton and Lionsgate, is searching for its male and female leads, between the ages of 13 and 15. Cretton is known for his work in directing Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Shang-Chi.
Ohana Casting in Hawaiʻi is helping the Carmen Cuba Casting team with their global search for leads in the film. Carmen Cuba is known for her casting of “Stranger Things” and “Star Wars: Starfighter.”
The upcoming live-action English-language feature film adaption of NARUTO!, is based on the popular Japanese manga series, written and illustrated by Masashi Kishimoto.
- The team is looking for a teen male lead (age 13-15) for the role of Naruto, with a lean, athletic physique. Actors or mixed-race Asian descent are encouraged to submit.
- The team is also looking for a teen female lead (age 13-15) for the role of Sakura, with an athletic, toned physique. Actors or mixed-race Asian and Asian descent are encouraged to submit.
Experience in martial arts, dance, movement gymnastics or parkour is a plus for both roles. Applicants must be able to speak with an American accent.

The email should include: full name, age, location, and two recent photos (one close-up from top of head to shoulders, and one full body from top of head to feet). Also include any relevant experience in acting, sports or martial arts, dance, movement, gymnastics, parkour, rock climbing, skateboarding, etc.
Commitment will start from January through August 2027. If cast, this is a paid opportunity. No acting experience is required. The deadline to apply is Oct. 9, 2026.
