Hawaiʻi Department of Taxation reminds taxpayers of upcoming filing and disaster relief deadlines

The Hawai‘i Department of Taxation reminds all taxpayers of upcoming key tax deadlines, including routine filings for income tax, general excise tax, and transient accommodation tax, as well as relief measures related to Hurricane Lala and Hurricane Lowell.
For full information on hurricane relief, including applicable tax returns and relevant tax periods, please see the official Tax Announcement 2026-07 for Hurricane Lala, here, and Tax Announcement 2026-08 for Hurricane Lowell, here.
DOTAX urges individuals, businesses and organizations to note these critical dates and avoid penalties. Relief is available for those affected by recent severe weather. Please act promptly to file or request relief by the deadlines below.

For state income tax, residents must file Form N-11, while nonresidents and part-time residents must file Form N-15. If taxpayers didbusiness in Hawai‘i, they must also file Form G-45, the periodic General Excise/Use Tax, and, if applicable, Form TA-1, the periodic Transient Accommodations Tax Return. For disaster relief, requests can be made using Form L‑115A for Hurricane Lala and Form L‑115B for Hurricane Lowell.
Taxpayers may make tax payments online at Hawaiʻi Tax Online at https://hitax.hawaii.gov. If taxes are owed on the return, failure topay by the deadline may result in the imposition of penalties and interest.
File Electronically
Taxpayers are encouraged to electronically file (e-file) their tax returns. E-filing reduces delays and speeds up processing times, resulting in faster refunds than those who file by paper.
Form G-45 and TA-1 may be e-filed for free using DOTAX’s online tax filing system, Hawaiʻi Tax Online at https://hitax.hawaii.gov.
Form N-11 and N-15 may be e-filed for a fee using one of the approved commercial tax preparation software options provided at https://tax.hawaii.gov/eservices/software/.
Taxpayers may also e-file their Form N-11 for free using HTO at https://hitax.hawaii.gov.
Tax Forms
Tax forms and instructions are available to view, download and print online at https://tax.hawaii.gov/forms/. Printed tax forms and instructions are available for pick up at all state tax offices. Public libraries also carry printed N-11 and N-15 forms in limitedquantities and have printed N-11 instructions available for reference use only.
