Tony Robbins Platinum Partnership volunteers paint homes, plant crop beds at The Maui Farm

Volunteers from the Tony Robbins Platinum Partnership spent three days recently painting all five residential homes and planting 20 new crop beds at The Maui Farm in Makawao, the nonprofit said.

About 350 members of the Platinum Partnership worked alongside Maui Farm staff and local partners on the organization’s 8-acre campus, according to a news release from The Maui Farm. The group also gave the nonprofit a $50,000 donation and covered additional project costs, the release said.

The Platinum Partnership describes itself as a global network of leaders and entrepreneurs focused on personal growth and philanthropy. Its members dedicate time and money to community projects, the release said.

The five homes provide housing for local women and children transitioning out of crisis, according to the nonprofit. PBG Painters, a Maui painting company, provided on-site guidance and help with the work, the release said. Sherwin-Williams donated the paint.

Volunteers also worked with Maui muralist Aubrey Matsuura to paint a custom mural intended to represent resiliency, strength and community growth, according to The Maui Farm.

The 20 new crop beds are expected to increase food production on the farm and support food security for families in its Family Strengthening Program, the nonprofit said. House of Six, a local business, donated gift bags for the volunteers.

Maui Farm Executive Director Emily Erickson said the work will allow staff to spend more time with the families they serve.

“Their work allows our staff to focus where it matters most — spending quality time directly supporting our families,” Erickson said in the release.

Founded in 1985, The Maui Farm is a nonprofit that provides transitional housing and farm-based programs for women and children recovering from domestic violence, homelessness and trauma, according to the organization. More information is available at themauifarm.org or by calling 808-579-8271.
