Update: Police identify 44-year-old Wailuku man who died in fatal motorcycle crash

Maui police identified the victim of a fatal Oct. 11 motorcycle crash as Matthew Adamson, 44, of Wailuku.
“The Maui Police Department extends our deepest condolences to Mr. Adamson’s family and friends,” police said Friday afternoon.
Adamson suffered fatal injuries in a motorcycle crash on Wailea Alanui Drive last Sunday night. Emergency dispatch operators were alerted around 9:36 p.m. on Oct. 11 to the crash just south of Okolani Drive in Wailea.
A preliminary investigation revealed that a Blue 2015 Harley-Davidson motorcycle was traveling north on Wailea Alanui Drive when the operator lost control and veered to the right, striking a curb.
The motorcyclist was thrown and pronounced deceased at the scene. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.
Police suspected to be a factor in the crash. The involvement of drugs or alcohol had not yet been determined.
Adamson’s death was Maui County’s 10th traffic fatality this year, compared to 12 at the same time last year.
