Kahului Airport ranked third among 35 medium hub airports for its percentage increase in average daily passenger traffic during the 2025 holiday periods, according to an analysis by travel booking platform Luxury Link.

The study relied on Transportation Security Administration screening data, and it ranked Kahului Airport (OGG) third among 35 medium hub airports for the increase in daily passengers during the 2025 Thanksgiving and winter holiday periods compared with the rest of the year. Among all 400 US airports in the analysis, OGG ranked 109th.

According to Luxury Link’s report, Kahului averaged 10,229 passengers per day during the holiday periods, compared with 9,092 on non-holiday days. That is a 12.5% increase. Average daily passenger traffic was higher during the winter holidays, at 10,694, than during the Thanksgiving period, at 9,595.

The national increase was 5.7%, according to the study. Luxury Link reported that medium hub airports as a group averaged a 5% rise.

Daniel K. Inouye International Airport in Honolulu also saw holiday traffic grow by more than 10%, the study found. Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport posted the largest increase among large hub airports at 26.1%.

Luxury Link defined the Thanksgiving period as the Friday before the holiday through the following Monday. It defined the winter period as the Friday before Christmas in 2025 through Jan. 2, 2026. The report said it excluded airports missing data for three or more days in either period.

The report also noted that national non-holiday traffic in 2026 is on pace to fall nearly 3% from last year, which would be its first decline since 2020. Luxury Link tied the drop to higher jet fuel prices and airfares stemming from the US-Israeli conflict in Iran.

The TSA data for Luxury Link’s report came from the agency’s Freedom of Information Act electronic reading room.
