Hāna High & Elementary School in East Maui is closed today, Oct. 29, due to heavy rainfall and road closures affecting safe access to campus for students, staff and school buses.
All other Hawaiʻi State Department of Education (HIDOE) schools are currently scheduled to be open. The Department is monitoring weather conditions in coordination with state and county emergency management agencies to ensure the safety of students and staff.
Any additional school closures or emergency announcements will be communicated through the Department’s official channels.
