Maui Country Club welcomes Peter Pak as its new executive chef, bringing experience in Maui’s culinary and hospitality industries, from resort kitchens to educating the island’s next generation of culinary professionals.

Originally from Colorado, Pak developed strong connections within Maui’s culinary community through his work at the University of Hawaiʻi Maui College, where he earned a degree in culinary arts and later served as a culinary instructor, program coordinator and executive chef of Leis Family Class Act Restaurant.

At UH Maui College, Pak helped aspiring chefs develop their skills and gain hands-on experience in a professional restaurant environment, contributing to the development of Maui’s culinary workforce.

His career also includes serving as sous chef at The Westin Nanea Ocean Villas, where he gained experience in resort dining operations, menu development and culinary team leadership.

Pak succeeds Chef Reid Watanabe who was promoted to Director of Food & Beverage at Maui Country Club earlier this year and is also a graduate from the UH Maui College culinary school.

Outside the kitchen, Pak enjoys spending time with his wife, Maria, and their 11-year-old son, Ethan. The family enjoys traveling, exploring new destinations and experiencing different cultures through food.
