Maui Mayor Alan Arakawa delivers his State of the County Address at 10 a.m. in the Council Chambers.

We will be posting a complete video recap and text of the Mayor’s address.

The event begins at 9:30 a.m. with live entertainment, followed by the Mayor’s address at 10 a.m.

The County will also be providing behind the scenes recaps via a live Twitter feed during the event.

In his 2011 Address, Mayor Arakawa announced plans for natural attrition, and end to Furlough Fridays, and an improvement to the county’s permitting process.

He also sought the return of Halloween festivities to Front Street, which resumed in full-force for the first time in November after failing to gain permits in previous years.

The event will also be carried live on Akaku:Community Television, Channel 53, with the same feed carried live at the station’s website and at Hawaii News Now.
