Angel Baby Consignment Opens in Lahaina

“Find a need and fill it” is one of those simple business truths that Janet Angel followed in opening Angel Baby Consignment Boutique in Lahaina last month.

Angel Baby welcome the public to attend their grand opening celebration and blessing on Saturday, March 10, 2012, at 12 p.m.  The new baby consignment store is located behind Taco Bell next to West Maui Cycles Bike Shop in the old Lahaina industrial area.

Angel Baby Consignment Boutique’s owner and founder, Janet Gilroy, started this store as a way to help our community provide valuable resources to one another in a much needed area that was overlooked.

“By offering a wide variety of items, it creates a vehicle for each of us to share with one another,” said Janet Gilroy, owner of Angel Baby Consignment Boutique. “As we welcome our community to be a part of this exciting consignment opportunity, we are also providing unique selections at affordable prices.”

With a granddaughter on the way, and frustrated with the limited resources on Maui, Gilroy began to realize that there was a tremendous need for maternity wear on the island, something that people up until now mostly had to shop for online. This desire to assist her daughter prompted the birth of Angel Baby Consignment Boutique.

“Our philosophy is simple at Angel Baby — if you continually give, you will continually live”, said Gilroy. “We are here to support our local community and will be donating all unsold baby items to assist the Pearson Foundation on Maui, a non-profit organization. “

The store consigns baby clothing, furniture, toys, maternity wear, books, DVDs, as well as handmade items such as baby gifts and a variety of rental items. The store specializes in merchandise for children, ages newborn to 8-years-old.

Consignors are welcome as well as any special requests for items. Angel Baby accepts consignment items between the hours of 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., Monday through Saturday and requires them to be freshly laundered, in “like new” condition and ready to display.

Angel Baby also offers an in-store baby registry service called “Mommy’s Wish List” as well as customized Baby Shower items, i.e. cakes, favors, gifts, etc.
