Need to learn to talk to anyone, anytime, anywhere about yourself, your business without breaking out into a

cold sweat or annoying potential prospects? Need to learn the appropriate way to get a referral from friends

and family to grow your business? “The Art of Fearless Cold Calling” will be taught by Lia Kay Barrad,

marketing and sales expert, on Wednesday, May 13 from noon to 1 p.m. Barrad will focus on the art of fearless

cold calling with the intent to set up a sales meeting and how to appropriately follow up to get your foot in

the door and secure new customers for your company. Bring business cards with you and be prepared to have fun

as we use these new technigues on classmates. Workshop is held at the Maui County Business Resource Center

located in the Maui Mall across from IHOP. All workshops are subject to change or cancellation.

Maui Young Business Roundtable General Membership Meeting & Presentation by Former Mayor Alan Arakawa
 Former Mayor Alan Arakawa will be a guest speaker during a meeting of the Maui Young Business Roundtable at

5:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 13 in the Maui Electric Company auditorium located at 210 W. Kamehameha Ave.,

Kahului.

Arakawa will be sharing his thoughts on how to improve Maui’s economic climate, particularly ways to help the

business community.  Specific issues will include water systems and the proposed home occupation business

ordinance.

Also on the meeting agenda will be the announcement of the organization’s Member of the Year award and

election of new board members.

Pupus will be served during the event.   The event is free for members and $5 per guest.
