Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard will discuss economic and cultural issues impacting the lives of indigenous Hawaiians and businesspeople on Maui.

The “Evening with Tulsi Gabbard” will be hosted by the Maui Native Hawaiian Chamber of Commerce from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Monday, March 25, at the Maui Tropical Plantation.

The community meeting is open to the public, and the cost of dinner is $20.

The discussion is part of a series hosted by the MNHCOC that features community leaders who report back on important topics that impact business on Maui.

Every other month the group welcomes a speaker in an effort to promote the mission of sustaining the Hawaiian culture, nurtures a strong community of Hawaiian values, and to enhance opportunities for success in business and education.

Congresswoman Gabbard is vice chair of the Democratic National Committee, sits on the Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Asia and Pacific, and on the Homeland Security Subcommittee on Borders and Maritime Security. Gabbard is also a member of the Safe Climate Caucus. She is one of the first two female combat veterans, first Hindu and first female of Samoan ancestry to serve as a member of the US Congress.
