Co-owners and brothers Josh and Jim Richardson of 808 Deli in Kihei are celebrating the 5-year anniversary of their restaurant with a “Pudding for the People” fundraiser. They are donating 100% of sales of their homemade pudding to a new charity every month of 2013. So far, the Kihei Youth Center has received $1,390 and A Keiki’s Dream received $1,540. February donations will go to The Maui Farm and March donations will go to Basketball Maui.

Maui Friends of the Library held its grand opening on March 17 for its third used bookstore, located at the Queen Ka`ahumanu Shopping Center. Mayor Alan Arakawa was on hand to cut the lei during the opening blessing ceremony and the Isle of Maui Pipe Band performed in front of the store.

Beach Activities of Maui, a recreational and beach activities and poolside services business, has added Dave Williams as the new general manager and Cameron Lehman as the new director of sales. Pacific Business News reported that the Dunes at Maui Lani golf course in Kahului has been taken off the market because there were “no acceptable offers.” The course was originally listed with no asking price in October 2011.

Alexis Dascoulias, the executive director of The Historic Iao Theater and co-owner of Camp CenterStage, was selected as a finalist for Pacific Business News’s upcoming “Business Women to Watch!” award.

Rudy Esquer received the 2013 Cesar Chavez Award from Maui Economic Opportunity Inc. in recognition of his work as an outstanding advocate for the Hispanic and Latino community on Maui.

New board officers were recently installed for the 2013-14 term for the J. Walter Cameron Center: Karlynn Fukuda, vice-president; Gladys C. Baisa, installation officer and Personnel Committee chair; and Robert Kawahara, CPA, treasurer.

The Maui Memorial Medical Center has opened its cafeteria to the public from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. The cafeteria now also has a cashier.

Laurene Fowler and Cindy Hand were recently appointed as the new postmasters for the Kula and Paia US Post Offices, respectively.

Alexander & Baldwin recently donated $1,000 to the Maui Canoe Club to support the club’s recreational and cultural programs.

The My Office food truck has closed at its location in the Maui Research and Technology Park.

Hale Makua Health Services has received its Adult Residential Care Home (ARCH) license from the Hawaii Department of Health for their Care Homes by Hale Makua facility.

Angela Thompson has been appointed executive director of Theatre Theatre Maui, a non-profit theater education organization.
