The accident was reported at around 1:37 p.m., county officials said.

The vehicles involved were initially blocking the makai lane of travel, but shortly before 2 p.m., authorities said efforts were being made to move to the vehicles to the side.

In the interim, traffic was being contra-flowed in the area, utilizing the mauka or mountain-side lane of travel for alternating traffic control.
