Maui Memorial Medical Center recognized and celebrated its nurses as part of National Nursing Week that concluded yesterday.

Hospital officials say the event marked nurses past, present and future with displays, events and photo montages of nursing students throughout the years.

The week-long event also included an annual blessing of hands conducted by hospital chaplains for nurses, technicians and staff.

“Nurses give so much and care for others so selflessly that we look forward to this chance to honor them for their special gifts by blessing the hands that nurture so many,” said MMMC Chaplain Amy Crowe in a hospital issued press release.
