The Hawai‘i Department of Health and the Healthcare Association of Hawaiʻi are working with hospitals in each county to ensure independent healthcare providers and their staff can obtain the first dosage of their vaccine this month.

There were 143 new COVID-19 cases reported in Hawai‘i on Wednesday, including 85 on O‘ahu, 29 on Maui, eight on Hawaiʻi Island, three on Kauaʻi, one on Moloka‘i and 17 in Hawaiʻi residents diagnosed outside of the state.

The Hawai‘i Department of Health developed a “Let’s Get Back to Real Life” campaign to highlight the economic and educational toll that COVID-19 has taken on Hawai‘i’s students and young adults.

Governor David Ige provided an update today on the state’s COVID-19 vaccination efforts saying healthcare workers, residents and staff at nursing homes are currently getting vaccinated. The second doses of the vaccine have started to arrive and will also be administered.

He said he received official confirmation of the case from the Hawaiʻi Department of Health this morning; and the employee had alerted the office to the possibility on Sunday evening, Jan. 3, 2021.

There were 124 new COVID-19 cases reported in Hawai‘i on Tuesday, including 21 on Maui.

The COVID-19 case count at the Harbor Lights condominium complex in Kahului has risen to 68 confirmed, according to an update provided by Maui Mayor Michael Victorino.

The State of Hawai‘i Department of Health alongside the National Guard is offering free COVID-19 tests on Tuesday, Jan. 5 from 8 to 11 a.m. at the University of Hawai‘i Maui College, Ike Le‘a parking lot.

The Harbor Lights condominium complex in Kahului will undergo professional sanitation this evening (on Sunday, Jan. 3, 2021) in response to a COVID-19 cluster that was first reported on Monday, Dec. 21, 2020.

Kahului now has the most current infections on Maui with 69 cases reported over the past two weeks. Lahaina has had 60 cases over the same period.

There were 241 new COVID-19 cases reported in Hawai‘i on Friday, including 190 on O‘ahu, 28 on Maui, 13 on Hawaiʻi Island, 1 in Kauaʻi and 9 in Hawaiʻi residents diagnosed outside of the state. There is one new death on Oʻahu.

Thirty-plus COVID-19 cases have been identified at the Harbor Lights condominium complex in Kahului on Maui, according to an update provided Thursday afternoon by Maui Mayor Michael Victorino.

The Hawai‘i State Laboratories Division began its molecular surveillance in June and to date has performed genome sequencing on nearly 700 samples of viral RNA.

There were 188 new COVID-19 cases reported in Hawai‘i on Wednesday, including 135 on O‘ahu, 26 on Maui, 14 on Hawaiʻi Island and 13 in Hawaiʻi residents diagnosed outside of the state.

COVID-19 testing at the Harbor Lights condominium complex in Kahului is currently underway as state and county crews, in coordination with Minit Med work to determine the extent of a cluster reported there earlier this week.

New Emergency Rules for Maui County are proposed to take effect at 12:01 a.m. on Jan. 2, 2021.
