Feb. 1, 2022 COVID-19 update: 1,068 new infections in Hawaiʻi
The latest data represents a total of 37,799 “active” cases statewide over two weeks, far surpassing the delta peak of 11,500. Maui County’s seven day average of cases is now 149.0 cases per 100,000, surpassing the delta peak of 57.6 per 100,000 reported on Aug. 25, but below the 412.1 reported on Jan. 21, 2022.

County to give free COVID-19 test kits Tuesday in Wailuku, remote areas
Maui County will assist the state Department of Health in distributing COVID-19 home self-test kits from 3 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 1, at the War Memorial Stadium parking lot in Wailuku. Test kits are also being distributed to nonprofit partners and to remote communities in Hana, Molokai and Lanai, according to a news release today. Six test kits per vehicle — with each kit holding one test — will be distributed during the drive-through distribution.

Jan. 24, 2022 COVID-19 update: 2,660 new cases in Hawaiʻi; 38 Maui hospitalizations
There are 2,660 new COVID-19 cases in Hawaiʻi today, including 456 on Maui, 13 on Molokaʻi, and 16 on Lānaʻi.
There are now 38 people hospitalized in Maui County with COVID-19 (as of 9 a.m. on Jan. 24, 2022), dropping below the 41 reported during the height of the delta surge in August 2021, and the 44 reported on Thursday, Jan. 20, 2022.
